About Dallas Cowboys

Professional American football team

The Dallas Cowboys are a professional American football team based in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex and play in the NFC East division of the National Football League. The team is headquartered in Frisco, Texas, and has played its home games at AT&T Stadium in Arlington since the stadium opened in 2009.

The Cowboys joined the NFL as an expansion team in 1960, after oilman Clint Murchison Jr. pursued a franchise for Dallas. Jerry Jones bought the team on 25 February 1989.

The team’s logo is a blue star, which represents Texas as the Lone Star State. Jack Eskridge, the team’s first equipment manager, designed the star and gave it a white border outline for a three-dimensional effect.
