From logo pixels to a usable brand palette
The extractor samples visible pixels, merges shades that are nearly identical (CIE ΔE below 10), folds anti-aliased edge blends into the colours they sit between, and lists up to six colours that each cover at least 1% of the visible area. Transparent pixels are ignored. The result is an inventory of this file, not a reconstruction of official spot colours or Pantone references.
Why extracted colors can differ from a brand guide
Compression, embedded color profiles, transparency, shadows, and screenshots can shift pixel values. Treat extraction as a fast inventory and recovery aid. For production work, the owner’s current brand specification remains the authoritative source.
Questions about the palette extractor
Can I extract colors from a transparent logo?
Yes. Fully transparent pixels are ignored and soft edge pixels are not used for colour, so the palette describes the visible mark. SVG files are sanitized and rendered in this tab first.
Why are similar shades not listed separately?
Shades closer than ΔE 10 are merged, and anti-aliased blends between two colours are folded into those colours. Swatches that remain are measurably different, for example a shadow tone. Compression and colour profiles can still shift values slightly.
Can I export the palette?
Yes. Copy the colours as CSS custom properties or download a JSON file with each HEX value and its approximate share of visible pixels. The values are estimates from this file, not official brand specifications.
