Methodology and limits
Useful technical evidence, without pretending it is legal certainty.
SimilarLogo is designed for private, user-controlled brand folders. It helps people organize a visual review. It does not search the open web or a trademark registry.
Results use visible technical signals such as shape hashes, edge direction, color distribution, transparency and proportion.
A high visual relationship is not ownership proof, infringement analysis, originality certification or trademark clearance.
Relationship tiers
Technical fingerprints are nearly identical. Check whether the file is an unnecessary duplicate.
Core construction is strongly related, with changes such as color, crop, scale or export treatment.
Several visual signals overlap, but the item may be a legitimate layout or family member.
The current fingerprint system does not find a strong relationship. Human review still remains necessary.
The internal ranking score orders a private result set. It is not a calibrated probability and should not be compared across unrelated projects.
Known failure modes
- Large empty margins, background plates and poor crops can dominate the fingerprint.
- Wordmarks with different text may share a similar overall silhouette.
- Small color changes can appear important or unimportant depending on shape emphasis.
- Fingerprint-only records cannot reproduce original pixels or a visual difference overlay.
- The tool does not check jurisdiction, trademark class, market context, pronunciation or likelihood of confusion.
Use the result as a review queue.
Confirm important findings against original artwork, brand guidelines and qualified legal research where necessary.
