BEXIMCO is the trade name of Bangladesh Export Import Company Limited, a conglomerate headquartered in Dhaka. The company states that it was founded in the 1970s by the brothers Ahmed Sohail Fasihur Rahman and Salman Fazlur Rahman and that it began mainly as a commodities trading company.

Its operations and investments include textiles, pharmaceuticals, personal protective equipment, ceramics, real estate development, construction, trading, marine food, information and communication technology, media, satellite television, financial services and energy. Group companies include Beximco Pharmaceuticals, Shinepukur Ceramics and the clothing brand Yellow, and the group’s stated corporate mission is “Taking Bangladesh to the world”. [1] [2]

• 1972 The brothers A. S. F. Rahman and Salman F Rahman founded BEXIMCO after Bangladesh’s independence. [2]
• 1976 Beximco Pharmaceuticals was founded; it started operations in 1980, making products under licence from Bayer AG of Germany and Upjohn of the United States. [3]
• 2005 Beximco Pharmaceuticals was listed on the Alternative Investment Market of the London Stock Exchange. [2]
• 2023-08-02 Teesta Solar Limited, a 200-megawatt solar power plant built by Beximco Power at Sundarganj in Gaibandha, was formally inaugurated. It had begun supplying the national grid on a trial basis in December 2022. [4]
