Abul Khair Group is a Bangladeshi conglomerate based in Chittagong. Its founder, Abul Khair, started a small bidi (hand-rolled tobacco) business under his own name in 1953, and the group traces its origins to that business.

The group’s archived website lists businesses in steel products, cement, ceramics, ready-mix concrete, milk powder and condensed milk, tea, beverages, snacks, tobacco and cigarettes, matches, and shipping and logistics, and states that it employs about 45,000 people. Its brands include Shah Cement, Marks and AMA milk powder, Seylon tea and Stella sanitary ware. [1] [2] [3]

• 1953 Abul Khair started a small cottage bidi business named after him, beginning with a few workers in a single room. [2]
• 1964 By 1964 the founder had also entered the import trade under licensing arrangements. [2]
• 2019-12 Guinness World Records recognised a vertical roller cement mill commissioned by Shah Cement Industries, an Abul Khair Group company, at its Muktarpur plant in Munshiganj. The mill, made by FLSmidth of Denmark, has a grinding table 8.08 metres in diameter. [4]
